The Dawning of an Art Series
My artwork is a window into the way I view the world. Ideas start from emotional responses to the constant loss of nature around us and the cruelty inflicted by man onto those who are unable to change their circumstances themselves. Sometimes my work is a vision of an ideal world, others a grip of the harsh realities we have created.
Each idea evolves and develops along its own path. Some projects are developed through much research and are anchored in many truths, others express emotions felt and are developed through poetry and sketching to help make them more tangible to work with.
The process from start to finish is always very organic and never forced. This stage can never be rushed.
The Robins Cage - Your Keeper
A poem from my up-and-coming series about the cruelty inflicted on animals during the
Yulin Dog Festival
A life of gold awaits for some
A gold that swirls amongst their breath
How bright it feels against their skin
But not for you cruel heart
Your keeper holds you strong
Indifference is your crime
Laughed and jeered as wounds cast deep
A wind of change must come
Do you think your truly free
No consequence to bear
Past action cannot save you though
The path is trod too far
For you are true darkness in life
The claws that mock creation
Judgement is pulling at your heels
If not today, tomorrow

“To save wildlife and wild places the traction has to come not from the regurgitation of bad-news data but from the poets, prophets, preachers, professors, and presidents who have always dared to inspire.”
