Why Buy Limited Edition Prints
Limited edition prints are a sustainable choice because their rarity makes them more treasured and valued. By producing fewer copies, these artworks become special items that people are more likely to cherish and keep, rather than discard. This intentional scarcity helps combat wastefulness, ensuring that each piece contributes to a more sustainable art culture. Investing in limited edition prints not only enhances your personal space with meaningful art but also supports a shift towards a more responsible approach to creativity and consumption.
Types of Prints Available
Limited Edition Art Prints
These prints are limited in number and once all the edition numbers, and any proofs have sold the artist cannot make any more. Artists can set any edition amount they like, but once set it cannot be changed. Generally, the smaller an edition run the higher the value of the print due to its rarity.
Limited edition prints are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity which includes the edition number purchased.
Special Release Prints
Print Proof
This print is the final, approved proof that serves as the standard for all subsequent prints in an edition. It is used as the benchmark for the printer or artist to match to throughout the edition.
Generally only one Print Proof is created per edition. Print Proofs are kept in a dark, cool case to preserve its condition and are sold only after the main edition has sold out.
Print Proofs are dated, titled, and signed on the reverse of the print, and carry the mark P/P. They are accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, along with a note describing the inspiration behind the artwork.
Trial Proof
A unique print that an artist creates while perfecting the final design, colors, or details of their artwork before the main edition is produced. Think of it as a "sneak peek" version where the artist is still experimenting and making adjustments. These prints are rare because they capture an early, sometimes slightly different, version of the final piece.
Since trial proofs are typically kept by the artist for personal reference, it's unusual to see them released for sale—making them especially valuable and collectible when they are.
Trial Proofs are titled, signed, numbered, and dated on the reverse of the print, and carry the mark T/P. A certificate of authenticity accompanies them.
Artist Proof
During a limited edition print run, prints are periodically requested to ensure their quality matches that of the print proof. These prints are known as artist proofs. Since they are separate from the main edition, they cannot be reintegrated into the edition run and are sold independently. Each artist proof is marked with "A/P" and numbered sequentially based on the order of creation. Typically, only a small percentage—usually 10% or less—is produced, making them highly desirable to collectors. The quantity of artist proofs is established at the beginning of the edition run and cannot be altered once contracted.
Artist Proofs will go on sale once they have been verified against the print proof. Updates regarding the availability of artist proofs will be posted on my social media, so be sure to subscribe for notifications.

Hors d'Commence Proof
These prints are identical in quality and appearance to the edition run but are not intended for sale. These proofs are generally used for galleries or exhibitions. They are marked as "HC" to distinguish them from the main edition. These proofs are owned and retained by the artist.

After Care
How to Care for Your Print
Whilst Hahnemühle bamboo paper is archival quality, care should always be taken when handling the printed material as the soft surface is susceptible to abrasion and can easily be damaged. Keeping the print inside the protective sleeve until it is ready to be framed will help prevent scuff marks or fingerprints that could damage the surface. Store the print in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
If you decide not to frame your print, please use only archival-quality envelopes, folders, and boxes for long-term storage.
Framing
I recommend purchasing your print first, then taking it to a professional framer where you will be able to view framing and mount options alongside your print.
If you decide to frame and mount your print yourself, use only archive-grade tapes and glues, and be very careful when handling the print to avoid damage to the print surface.
For best protection, it is recommended to frame the print with UV glass or plexiglass and avoid displaying it in direct sunlight or under UV lighting.
Avoid hanging the framed print near bathrooms or areas with condensation, moisture, or direct heat.
Thank you
